Programs

We offer a variety of programs which motivate students to engage in productive learning!

They are:

Extended Foreign Language Program

The Extended Foreign Language Program has been implemented at Sylvania Heights for the last fourteen years. Our school was  a pioneer, starting  this program along with three other schools in our district. The program teaches Spanish as a Second Language to students in Kindergarten to Fifth Grades. Our teachers participating in the program are:

Kindergarten - Mrs. Cela
First Grade - Coto-Gonzalez
Second Grade - Ms. Zugasti 
Third Grade - Mrs. Gonzalez
Fourth Grade - Mrs. Miranda
Fifth Grade - Mrs. Aguiar

Gifted Program

Our gifted program serves over 60 students in grades K-5. Students participate in creative activities in the subjects of Math, Science, and Social Science. Students are graded in all of these subject areas. The program participates in District competitions such as the Geography Bee, Mathematics District Competitions and other school site competitions. Ms. Celia Sanchez, Ms. Maria Lavina, and Ms. Maria Renfrow are the teachers leading the Gifted Program.
